Yesterday my friend came to visit me and she brought her hubby and her two little girls along. But they didn't come by car or train, no, they just flew in! With a tiny little plane, a Cessna 172S. My friend's hubby has a pilot's licence! :o) And that was the moment my adventure began...a brief scenic flight over the coast of the Baltic Sea, Travemuende and back to Luebeck! :D

And a little video (mostly a slide show, but I filmed takeoff and landing! :D)

It has been only half an hour, but it was simply AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for this!!!

You have reminded me of 'island' hopping in Hawaii (I hope I have spelt that right) back in 1979. I got the chance to sit next to the Pilot ... and yes, amazing ;)

You live in a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, I'm pretty sure Hawaii is far more beautiful than Germany! :D Lucky you! And also, I wish I could do such a trip in your country. What I've seen from pics, Australia must be such a beautiful place!
But I've to admit with all the snow and the clear blue sky, even Germany can look nice... ^^

Gosh, I was so nervous before. That plane was so tiny... but as soon as we were airborne, everything was just fine, brilliant... AMAZING! :D

Hawaii was the end of a tour of the west coast of America and Canada.

Even on the bus we changed seats every day so eventually sat near the front ... we drive on the left hand side of the road ... and driving on the RIGHT hand side of the road was MORE hair raising than being in the plane. At that point in my life I didn't have my driver's license but had my foot firmly planted on an imaginary brake pedal. Very scarey.

Hehe, believe me I know, how that feels. I lived in England for a few years, and when I first arrived, it felt really weird with all the cars driving on the "wrong" side of the road! LOL!
But you get used to it...eventually. ^^

You had time to get used to it ... I was not there long enough ;)

The things one remembers.

Oh WOW! That looks so bloody amazing! Lucky you :-)

I am sending your pics to Heathrow Airport to show them that planes can actually fly even if there's snow on the ground ;-)

It does, doesn't it? :D That really was an unique experience! :D

Hahaha, is it that bad again? But to be fair, we only have about two or three centimeters of snow on the ground. ;o) What's it like in London?

Wow that looked fantastic! is the sea frozen or was that snow on the beach? Such beautiful landscape it must have been a trip of a lifetime. I guess it is pretty cold where you are, here it has been down to -5 degrees C but we had a lot of snow on Saturday. I hope you are well and had a great Christmas. Sherlock was good did you see it?

Neither, it's just sand. But I first thought it was frozen, too. ;o) And it definitely was the trip of a lifetime, absolutely amazing! Although, I've to admit, I almost said 'no', when my friend offered me that trip... I mean, did you see that plane? It's just tiny!!! O_O But I'm so glad I did it anyway! :D

And you're certainly right, it's bloody freezing here. This morning we had about -16 degrees C!!! And the worst... my heating broke over the weekend, and it's still not working properly. I'm sitting here, packed up in my duvet, shivering. I just want it to be warm again *cries*!

Christmas was nice, especially our Merlin-y brunch thingy! :D Loved the finale, and I'm already on withdrawal! LOL.

And of course, I watched Sherlock. The last episode was bloody brilliant. I'm still trying to figure out how he did it. I read some very good theories about it...can't wait for the next series. ;o)

Oh, and I watched Being human just now. Sad but brilliant and very promising for the rest of the series. :D

I hope you and D. are well, say 'hi' to everyone from me. I miss you, and I miss England so much. :( Maybe, just maybe, Georg will send me to Manchester in the spring to learn some methods at the Uni. Keep your fingers crossed. I really don't want to get my hopes up, so, I'm not believing this until it will actually happen, but it would be fantastic! *please, God, please* :o)
